Cultural Exchange Tours

Practice your English while you tour Seattle!

Cultural Exchange Tours are a great way to experience Seattle and practice your English at the same time.  There are many options.  You can study three hours of English each day, for example, and tour Seattle in the afternoons.

Enjoy a variety of activities and sights such as Pike Place Market, Safeco Field, the Space Needle, Mt. Rainier, the Seattle Art Museum, and Experience Music Project, just to name a few.  You may choose your own activities depending on your interests.

Example of 3-Week Cultural Exchange Tour Package

Based on 20 students
Cost per student: $2,700, not including airfare
The cost includes:

• 15 hours of English instruction per week
• Orientation materials
• Classroom materials
• Accommodation and placement in a homestay (includes 3 meals daily)
• Airport pick-up and drop-off
• 4 afternoon activities per week
• 2 all-day tours
• Bus fare for three weeks (15 days)
• Transportation to and from activities/tours
• Welcome and farewell party
• Certificate ceremony
• Souvenir

For every 10 students, one chaperone/guardian will be included gratis in activities/tours and a homestay.

Customized Tutoring Programs

Design your own class and learn English more quickly!

The Pacific Language And Cultural Exchange offers customized tutoring.  It caters to individual needs and objectives.  You will meet with an instructor who will assess your English skills and set up a study plan with you.  Meeting one-on-one, you will improve your English skills much more quickly.  You can focus on any of the following:

  • Business English

  • Presentation Skills

  • Reading, Writing, Speaking and Grammar

  • Pronunciation

  • Conversation

  • TOEFL Preparation

  • Many other possibilities

Homestays

Homestay is a great way to learn about American culture and practice English with native speakers. In a homestay, a host family provides a private, furnished room and three meals daily. You will have a unique cultural experience in a comfortable and friendly atmosphere. Other accommodations, including apartments or hotels, can be arranged.

People who are interested in hosting are interviewed and screened carefully. Those that are selected to host for The PLACE are diverse. They are families, single parents, retired couples, and singles. Although each host is unique, they are all open to sharing their homes with international students and learning about various cultures.

During your stay, The PLACE is available if you have any problems with your host family or if you need help communicating with them.
 

        Fees:

  • Homestay    $600/month

  • Homestay Deposit....$100 (This is paid to your host family if you cancel less than 14 days before your scheduled arrival date. If you arrive and stay with your host family as planned, it goes towards your first month's rent.)

  • Placement Fee...... $250 (one-time fee, over 18 years of age)*not refundable

  • Placement Fee...... $300 (one-time fee, under 18 years of age) *not refundable

  • Application fee $50

  • Airport pick up $60 (optional)
